Mumbai!
The city that never sleeps was my escape for September.Apart from all the errands that I had to do with my five days in Mumbai, I fell in love with the city.

My stay was in Sanpada which is 1 hour away from Colaba(away from the city) but each day I took a train to CST railway station, somedays I was sitting, standing & today I was squeezed. I didn’t want to complain about anything because I wanted to be a mumbaikar for 5 days. Being mumbaikar for five days, I can proudly say that I can be your guide to a “bombay dharshan” tour.
The best thing about travelling in the train was hawkers with dingle dangle trinkets. It was a good way to trick the exhausted minds in the train. From fancy hair pins to delicious munchies, they had it all.

I travelled in the ladies compartment which was safe and easy for a newbie in Mumbai. Also the women who came across was really helpful. Even though it’s the ladies compartment, you still have to be very careful about your belongings because snitchers were everywhere.
After getting down the train in CST Railway Station, my next place was to get my daily dose of coffee or may be rose milk down the subway. Walking down the subway was task for me as not be distracted from all the cheap deals around. My eyes goes like
” Powerbank for 150″,Oh!!! Let me buy?? No no no.. And Yes!! ”
It’s not just even hundreds just tens, twenties that I spent, I’m still not aware how I run out of cash.
And then my journey starts by to sharing the cab with random strangers and walking in and around colaba causeway and falling over and over for marine drive view.
It’s not the Mumbai you see in the morning is at night. It changes. Colourful lights around CST railway station and Queen’s Necklace makes you to stay one more hour and more. I just don’t want to leave!!

Mumbai became so close to my heart as it was me whom I have to make happy. The places I visited, food I ate, goodies I bought was to make myself happy and it was all worth it. There was days that I would sit in a random place to watch people around, sitting down with a Vada Pav to munch, stare at the blue sky to enjoy the “now” was all a healing to myself.
The solo trip is the best thing that can ever happen to you. You just start living, face the situation may be even without the language as in the ‘Alchemist’ by Paulo Coelho says “Everything in life is an omen” it just guides you.
